How long does verification take?
Most applications are reviewed within 1–3 business days of receiving your documents. If we need additional information we'll contact you by email or phone. Business and Professional tier applicants who require a video call may take up to 5 business days in total. You can check your current status at any time using your reference number in the Status Checker above.
What documents do I need?
Required documents depend on your tier. All applicants need a valid National ID or Passport. Beyond that: businesses need a Certificate of Incorporation and KRA PIN; drivers need a Driving Licence, NTSA certificate and vehicle logbook; doctors need their KMPDC/NCK/PPB registration and practising licence; lawyers need their LSK practising certificate; property agents need their EARB licence. Email all documents as PDF, JPG or PNG (max 5 MB each) to verify@mysokoni.co.ke with your reference number in the subject.
Can I lose my verification badge?
Yes. SOKONI reserves the right to suspend or revoke a verification badge if: your licence or registration expires and is not renewed, we receive credible complaints about fraudulent activity, your business closes or you cease to practise, or you fail to complete the annual renewal check-in. You will always be notified before any badge is revoked and given a chance to provide updated documentation.
Does verification guarantee sales or bookings?
Verification does not guarantee sales, bookings or any specific revenue outcome. It is a trust and credibility signal that shows customers your business or practice is genuine and has been reviewed. Verified accounts typically receive significantly more profile views and enquiries than unverified ones, but results depend on the quality of your listings, pricing, responsiveness and customer service.
How is verification renewed?
Verification is valid for 12 months. Approximately 30 days before expiry you will receive a renewal reminder by email and an in-app notification. Renewal requires confirming that your details are still accurate and uploading any updated licences or certificates. The renewal process is free and typically takes 1–2 business days. If you do not renew, your badge will be paused (not deleted) and reactivated as soon as you complete the renewal.
